Since 1995, NEF has has continued to award staff with grants to fund innovative educational programs not provided in the District budget. The Foundation has several activities throughout the school year to fulfill its mission. Here's a recap of NEF programs.
Pillar Recognition & Banquet
The 2016 NEF Pillar Recognition and Banquet, presented by Raba Kistner, honored six amazing Northside superhero graduates, the 2016-17 NISD Pillars of Character. The evening included meeting the Pillars over dinner, silent and live auctions, and a high energy student performance featuring Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and other iconic superheroes. Sporting Clay Shooting Tournament
The 2016 NEF Sporting Clay Shooting Tournament, presented by Bartlett Cocke General Contractors, helped NEF aim high for student success. Close to 150 participants enjoyed a day out on the scenic course in support Northside ISD students and staff. Click here to view event photos.
'Fore' Education Golf Tournament
The 2016 ‘Fore’ Education Golf Tournament, presented by Joeris General Contractors, was a hit... no pun intended. The rainy weather didn't keep about 140 golfers from coming out to support NISD and NEF at a new event venue, the Hyatt Hill Country Golf Club. Click here for event photos.
Superhero 5K Run/Walk & Family Wellness Fair
The NEF Superhero 5K Run/Walk & Family Wellness Fair, presented by CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, generated close to 4,000 participants. Attendees donned their best superhero gear and enjoyed a variety of activities, including health screenings provided by CHRISTUS. Click here to view event photos.
Employee Pledge Drive
NISD employees once again stepped up to answer the call to be NEF heroes during the annual Employee Pledge Drive. More than 4,600 employees donated more than $180,000 this year, which will help NEF award employees grants.
